How to clean your Artwork?

How to clean your Artwork?

Following some easy steps can preserve the longevity of your artwork. Hang your Artwork appropriately  Choose a wall that can support the weight of your piece. Hang the picture straight. If it is too heavy, secure the artwork with more than one anchor point using wood studs or plaster so the weight is distributed. Keep the art away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures Avoid places where your art would be exposed to direct sunlight. If you decide to hang the art in a sunroom, consider framing it with UV filtering acrylic. Do not put your piece close to radiators, air conditioner units, and fireplaces. Constantly dust your art  Do not use chemical products.  Dust frequently with a dry cloth or a brush. Be careful when using a feather duster as the feathers can get attached to the canvas. Wipe glass/acrylic with a microfiber cloth and acrylic cleaning solution. Artist of the Month

Artist of the Month

She finds compelling subjects and locations by crisscrossing the city and taking numerous photographs. Once in the studio, Grossman, like William Kentridge, begins to draw and then obsessively shifts her narrative world away from her sources. She re-positions buildings and vehicles while adding and subtracting characters to achieve the final cut. The physicality of her process is crucial to achieve the “just happened” feel of her work.

Bob Tabor

Bob Tabor is known for his large format prints of equestrian portraits and stunning seascapes. His unique approach to his work creates an intimate visceral experience for the viewer. Bob’s sensitive insight allows him to capture images with a signature style that is extraordinary. For his equestrian portraits, only natural light is used to illuminate his subjects. The original background is then removed and replaced with either black or white. The image is then dramatically cropped to enhance the graphic elements. His work can be seen in Ralph Lauren shops on four continents, private collections and galleries worldwide. Shop his collection

photo of Dinesh Boaz wearing black hat and geometric shirt

Dinesh Boaz

Dinesh Boaz creates a dynamic juxtaposition between the natural landscape and our involvement in it. This fresh perspective is definitely attractive, but also reveals a reflective state which is introspective, as well as contemplative. Dinesh Boaz explores the area beneath him via a helicopter to achieve a ‘top’ view. As he states, “By honing-in on the specific details of the earth below, I can highlight . the remoteness and stillness in water, sand and rugged space like terrain, but also connect back to our existence with human form and the life within." Emphasizing lines, colors, shapes and an overall pattern, Boaz’s thoughts develop from his musical background. Originally a recording studio owner and music producer in New York City, he combines the visual and performing arts. The artist is able to see musical notes and frequencies as different values of color, or color palettes, on the spectrum. Boaz was born in Chennai, India, graduated with his B.A. from Rutgers University, and in not so many years, has had numerous exhibits, awards and magazine reviews across the United States. "What I hope to achieve through my photography,  is a shared view of the world and a mutually inspired experience. While I might play the role of orchestrator and purveyor of the journey through these landscapes, my hope is that one can experience the same feelings of inspiration, calm and positive energy I feel in the helicopter cockpit at 1000 feet." Lauren Silberman

Lauren Silberman is a photographic artist based in New York City. Through images and text, the evidence of beauty in disorder is present throughout much of her work. Images of the aftermath of raucous secret gatherings, portraits of life in unlikely places and images of everyday objects out of context bear unexpected messages, whether they be melancholy, joyful or sinister. It is the after and the in-between that interest her most and these notions of the everyday where she searches for meaning. Lauren received her MFA from the International Center of Photography-Bard Program in Advanced Photographic Studies and her BA in Art History from Barnard College.  Lauren has been awarded residencies with A-Z West (Joshua Tree, California), ArtGarda (Sirmione, Italy), Mana Contemporary (Newark, New Jersey),  The Camera Club of New York (NYC), the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace program (NYC) and was a Visiting Scholar at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Lauren also devotes time to curating shows; her recent projects include A Rose is a Rose is A Rose, a one-night show in a garden in a Brooklyn hardware store, as well as projects at the Spring/Break Art Show. She has been featured in PDN’s photo annual and exhibited in New York and abroad.  Some of Lauren’s clients include The New Yorker, NYLON Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Vice, Details Magazine, Bust Magazine, Brooklyn Industries and her work has been featured in the New York Times Magazine and Vogue Italia.
